What can I do to check my own roof ?
Have a look at your roof from the inside and make sure that there are no signs of water getting in. For example damp stains on wood, rafters or wet loft insulation.

Ensure that there is no daylight visible from the inside of the roof, if you can see daylight then it is more than likely that rain will get through when there is a storm.

How can I check my roof from the outside?

Inspect the roof covering for slipped, missing, or broken tiles any of these problems can lead to leaks, and the repair cost will be higher than it would have been had they been inspected.

Flat roof systems should be checked for blisters, sagging areas, clogged interior drains, spongy areas of roof deck.

How long does a slate roof last?

A well- constructed and well-maintained slate roof will last for over 100 years.

Yes generally speaking slate can be found in a variety of hues and colours such as greens, greys, reds, purple

Slate is mined all over the world:- Wales, China, Brazil, Spain and India, typically our clients ask for we use Scottish and Welsh slate.
